National Engineering Research Center for Ship Design Technology.The
project was initiated in l995 under the Ministry of State Planning
and the Shanghai Municipal Planning Commission and has been carried
out by the Marine Design & Research Institute of China.
Content: New type and high-tech research of design technology
of ships with high added value, also the systematization and integration
of ship CAD software.

National Key Laboratory of Contraceptive Drug and Device was approved
to start
construction by the State Family Planning Commission (SIPPR).
The research focus of the Lab covers the following areas. |

Research on the synthesis and relationship between chemical structure
and bio-efficacy of anti-early-pregnancy and progesterone agents |

Research on the prostaglandin synthesis and relationship between
its chemical structure and bio-efficacy. |

Research on birth control bioactive ingredients screening from
Traditional Chinese
Medicine. |

Research on biodegradable and non-biodegradable slow releasing
drugs delivery system. |

Research on new IUD with active ingredients, its side effect mechanism
and preventive methods. |
Research
on immuno-polypeptide birth control vaccine. |

National Key lab of High Power Laser Physics. The lab was founded
in l986 under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and China Research
Institute of Engineering Physics. The
Research Institute of Laser Plasma took part in the founding.
Contents: research of development high power laser technology,
physics test of laser plasma. |

Shanghai Key lab of Laser Beams Micro-Processing
It was founded in Oct. l990 under the Shanghai Municipal Scientific
& Technological Commission, the works have been carried out
by the Shanghai Research Institute of Laser Technology.
Contents: development and application of processing micrometer
or sub-micrometer level lines and patterns of laser beams on material
surface. |
Shanghai Key lab of Application & Evaluation of Engineering
Materials
It was founded in l999, supervised by Shanghai Municipal Scientific
& Technological Commission and carried out by Shanghai Research
Institute of Materials.
Contents:Research on environment sensitive crack and its application
in materials
engineering, research on materials fracture and NDT, failure analysis
on key engineering projects and life expectancy study, industrializations
of ceramics and polymer composites materials productions
